Zara Lyness is an Irish multi-media artist, with a diverse range of experience in a multi-disciplinary university degree, her work is rich in variety and her versatility knows no bounds.

Zara completed a BA in Fine Art in 2017, graduating with a First Class Honours, before being selected for the Graduate Artist Residency at Ulster University and joining Pollen Studios and Gallery. At the end of her residency, Zara achieved Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Authority, and continued to develop her practice, all the while working as an arts facilitator, administrator, and Registered Support Provider for Ulster University. Zara then went on to complete her MA in Fine Art at UU, celebrating a Distinction and receiving the Void Gallery and Bbeyond Graduate Awards, 2023.

With an eclectic range of work and wonderful array of artistic experience, Zara reflected upon her work; “In sharing recognised symbols and stories we connect, accessing our own personal history to make sense of new experiences. Sometimes by focusing on the small things we gain a better understanding of the who and where we are.”
