Kathryn Nelson’s artwork often deviates in the use of medium and technique in order to adapt to the area of research. Yet there is always an underlying similarity to every artwork that she creates. Whether the area of exploration is mathematical, scientific, archaeological or environmental she endeavours to look in depth to find a conceptual basis for the art.
Currently her study of ecology has become her passion. She believes that biodiversity, ecosystems, and understanding species interactions are vitally important areas of research for both science and the arts.
