Aislinn Prescott

Aislinn is a flautist, composer and music facilitator. She gained a B.Mus (Hons) at Trinity College of Music, London and with an interest in contemporary music and extended flute technique continued her studies at Goldsmith’s University gaining a Masters in Music Performance.

Her compositions often blend contemporary flute technique with hints of her Irish roots. A keen photographer she has collaborated with visual artists and exhibited sound and video installations exploring ideas of place, identity and time.

On returning to Northern Ireland she has facilitated community music projects with funding from Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and she has established a flute choir giving children the experience of playing and performing together. She is committed to providing opportunities to all children in Northern Ireland and currently works as woodwind tutor for the Education Authority.

Aislinn is a recipient of an EMI Foundation Award and the Ian Gow Memorial Fund. Most recently she has received Arts Council NI funding for the purchase of a new, professional flute..
